Press Release – March 8, 2023 – The Colchester Sexual Assault Centre Celebrates its 27th Anniversary on International Women’s Day

This past year, our team of Counselling Therapists have provided 1,394 hours of free counselling services to both female and male identifying adults and youth across the region. When you purchase a ticket, you will directly support the free programs and services we offer such as counselling, education, prevention, and awareness.

Your $25 purchase will enter you in for 52 weekly draws – with 39 prizes to be won, 12 monthly cash draws of $500 and the Grand Prize of $6,500. 2021-2022 Annual Report


The Pride Speaker Series offers weekly psychoeducational workshops during Truro Pride Month in June 2022. These workshops are intended for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and their allies and cover a variety of wellness topics including consent and boundaries, communication, healthy relationships, providing gender-affirmative support, and self-compassion. Press Release – April 1, 2022 – April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month


***Covid-19 Update – March 21, 2022*** Although mask mandates and gathering limits have been lifted, the health and safety of our team and the clients we serve remains our highest priority. Our Community Resource Centre will remain open by appointment only, and virtual and tele-support options will continue to be our primary means of delivering our programs and services. Face-to-face visitors will be coordinated on a case-by-case basis and masks will be required until we have a better understanding of the impacts. We thank everyone for their patience over the coming weeks as we continue to monitor the evolving situation.

COVID-19 Update – June 28, 2021

Please note that limited in-person counselling services and appointments are being permitted in our Community Resource Centre. We prefer to continue offering our programs and services virtually and by telephone as a precaution to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Please click the Contact Us tab if you require more information and our Counsellors will coordinate on a case-by-case basis with clients. Thank you for your understanding during this time and we apologize for any inconvenience. We will continue to re-evaluate the situation as the Province releases further phases in the easing of restrictions.
